STAY UPDATED WITH THE DOLPHICAM2 VERSION 1.4.1

We've released the 1.4.1 update with improved features to your software which can help improve efficiency. Here is a summary of what you can expect when updating your dolphicam2 software with the 1.4.1.

April 25, 2021

Last month we launched the 1.4 software update which included some fantastic new features for your dolphicam2 platform. The update included working as a standalone platform, comparing live scans, screenshot management and much more. Since then, our technical team have been continually improving the software and adding updates to ensure you have the latest capabilities. This week we released the 1.4.1 update with improved features to your software which can help improve efficiency. Below is a summary of what you can expect when updating your dolphicam2 software with the 1.4.1.

DIGITAL GAIN AND DIGITAL TIME CORRECTED GAIN (TCG)

This feature in the Signal & Image menu enables users to add digital TCG, in addition to the analog gain and TCG (in the Transducer menu). The feature is similar in appearance to the previous “Gain and TCG” function, but with a few important differences:

Whereas analog gain is a data acquisition step, digital gain is a data processing step. This means it can be applied and adjusted to previously acquired Full Matrix Capture (FMC) data as well as to the current data set in stop-scan mode. This provides users with much greater flexibility and control when analysing data, and means that additional analysis gain can be applied retrospectively if needed.

Digital Time Corrected Gain has much higher precision in the time domain than its analog counterpart. This means that fine-tuning of the curve at particular time points is much easier than before.

C-SCAN POP-UP IN B-SCAN VIEWS

A small A-scan and C-scan pop-up window is now available from within the B-scan views. This makes it easier to locate and change the B-scan’s position in the dataset without needing switch views.

GATE LINES IN HORIZONTAL B-SCANS

Last but not least the gate position indicators are now visible and adjustable in the horizontal B-scan window. This provides greater ease in the application of the gates, for instance for gating features that may only appear in the horizontal B-scan, rather than relying on the vertical B-scan data alone.
