MSG Aviation partner up with dolphitech to deliver high-quality aircraft inspection service

MSG Aviation has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with dolphitech, a leading provider of non-destructive testing (NDT) platforms. The dolphitech technology will develop MSG Aviation’s inspection service, enabling aircraft inspections with ultrasonic technology.
MSG Aviation delivers products and solutions for inspections of aircrafts, in addition to washing, de-sanding, de-icing and engine flushing. By partnering with dolphitech, MSG Aviation will strengthen its inspection offering to aircraft operators. Their cutting edge ultrasound technology makes it possible to examine the aircraft and detect damages without manpower physically inspecting the fuselage. The data is recorded, stored, and delivered to the aircraft owner with AMOS (Swiss Aviation Software) for evaluation. The data is saved and will be used for comparisons in later inspections.
Dolphitech has a strong track record of advancing world-class ultrasound technologies for the NDT market, and the intended agreement with MSG Aviation entails usage of platforms for testing. The platforms will be used in MSG Aviation’s models RS-400 and RS-500 to deliver a more holistic and less intrusive inspection service.

MSG Aviation’s automated facility is now ready for use after a few years of research, development and testing of the prototype at Geiteryggen Airport in Skien. The solution has been developed with funds from the EU and Innovation Norway, among others. Following recent letters of intent with Avinor, Norway’s airport operator, the airlines Flyr and Norwegian as well as with Widerøe Ground Handling, MSG Aviation now signs its fifth letter of intent, bringing it one step closer to commercial launch.
